SAN MARCOS: Planning panel to consider school’s permit request Monday

SAN MARCOS —- The Planning Commission will meet Monday to consider a private school’s request to renew its operating permit.

Applied Scholastics serves 65 kindergarten through third-grade students in the building formerly known as the Old Richland Schoolhouse at 134 Woodland Parkway. Delphi Academy, which runs the school, is seeking to serve students up through the eighth grade under a permit renewal.

The school’s maximum number of students would remain the same, even if the request is granted.

An agenda for the commission’s 6:30 p.m. meeting says an office and medical park that H.G. Fenton Co. wants to build between Highway 78 and Cal State San Marcos also will be discussed.

However, city officials said last week that the discussion will be moved to the commission’s Dec. 1 meeting.
