Katie Holmes to Face Anti-Scientology Protest at Broadway Premier

Katie Holmes, wife of actor Tom Cruise, won’t be the only one taking the stage when she premiers on Broadway play in October. An anti-Scientology group will also bee seeking an audience to protest the controversial religion founded in the 1950s by L. Ron Hubbard.

Katie was dogged by rumors, apparently false, that she bore her last child after being impregnated with Hubbard’s frozen sperm. It won’t stop the group, however, from kicking up a storm. A group that simply calls itself “Anonymous,” told MSNBC.com that they plan to picket the theatre to protest her affiliation with the religion. Holmes, a Roman Catholic, converted to Scientology after meeting Cruise.

“We aren’t looking to shut the play (All My Sons) down, we don’t have the power to do that; we just want to prove a point,” said a spokesman for the goup. “We want to draw attention to Scientology, and hopefully get Katie out of it before it’s too late.” The Anonymous group is known for the faceless masks worn by members, and recently picketed the Scientology Centre in New York.
