Ant and Dec are US cult heroes
CHEEKY telly favourites Ant and Dec are being used to help “cure” recovering addicts in a drug clinic for Scientologists.
The Geordie duo’s new US show Wanna Bet? is a massive hit with followers of the weird religion.
Scientology doctors reckon the lads’ style reflects the sect’s own “wholesome and uplifting” message. So they are encouraging their rehab patients to tune in as often as possible.
One patient at the clinic in Narconon, Colorado, said: “We’d never heard of Ant and Dec before. But they’re adorable and we’re all massive fans now. We have been encouraged to watch the show because it cheers us up and supports many of the Scientology beliefs.”
