Ex-judge Brennan arraigned in domestic-violence case

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – John Brennan, once the chief district court judge in Albuquerque, appeared in court today facing kidnapping and domestic violence charges.

He’s accused of refusing to let a woman leave his house, grabbing her, throwing her to the ground and choking her.

The woman told police she’s his girlfriend, his mistress, and that he choked her so hard she thought he was going to break her neck, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.

Brennan resigned from the bench in 2004 after police busted him for DWI and cocaine possession. He pleaded guilty and served his sentence of probation without incident.

Brennan is currently the president of Second Chance, a drug and alcohol treatment center which receives public funding and uses techniques based on the teachings of the founder of Scientology.

Second Chance is a repackaged Narconon aimed at prisoners, with all the indoctrination and dodgy science which goes with it. This article from the Santa Fe reporter, gives some more background on how the programme works.
